Hi friends and fans and thanks again for your follows and comments! It feels good man.
Today I've been straight mixing after being inspired by a close friend of mine who thought that since I love music so much, why don't I practice and gear up to mix professionally in a club. How exciting!
Personally I can have MAJOR gripes when a bad DJ is behind the decks at a club and completely ruins the energy of the club. So theres a lot of self expectation to learn and do it right! But I'm loving it. To start off I'm just using VirtualDJ and mixing from my own personal collection but I'm taking to it really well and having loads of fun.
I'd like to put out to the friends I've made here that if they know of a place to buy DJ gear relatively cheap to post in the comment section with links. SEcond hand gear is fine, as long as it's reliable and quality.
Sorry for the no-links in this post though, I'm thinking I might upload a quick mix I throw together in my next blog. Post a comment saying "Give us a mix!" and if theres enough I'll do just that.
Thanks again!
MIX please ;)
ReplyDeletegreat blog i look forward to more, following.
cant wait to hear that mix!
ReplyDeleteI've got a friend who does this sort of thing, he says it's an awesome feeling DJing in front of a crowd, being able to let people hear your mixes and everything. Keep at it!
ReplyDeleteI do paid DJ work every now and then and I would seriously reccommend the Numark Mixtrack or Mixtrack pro. It works great with Virtual Dj and its pretty cheap. Its basically the layout of virtual DJ but in real life. Gives you real sliders to slide n stuff.
ReplyDeletemake us a sweet mix and put it up on soundcloud.
ReplyDeleteYes, please throw a mix up for us to hear. Nice blog by the way followed.
ReplyDeleteMix pl0x.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to hear some, and I also agree a bad DJ can ruin the atmosphere entirely.
I would like to see how it goes for you, followed.

ReplyDeleteI dont want to sound like I want to make you down
But you need to be really good at it .
In these days everybody can be a DJ .
You need to produce something makes you special .
Yea I'm aware Baba. I really want to put a lot of effort and time practicing to get everything right. Music is my passion and while I didnt get the opportunity to learn an instrument when I was young I still have the same drive now.
ReplyDeleteIt's gonna be a long enjoyable ride.
I'm looking forward to hearing your stuff, adding you to my morning coffee!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait man! Hurry up and post it!

I do a lot a DJ'ing on the side. Most djs cry when they see my equipment. I own all pro touring equipment. QSC PL2 amps, JBL MRX speakers. Couple custom built horns for added long throw bass.
ReplyDeletegood luck. I think DJing would be pretty sweet. you get to control the whole atmosphere.
ReplyDeleteGood luck man DJing is a pretty respected job.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck, and most importantly enjoy!
ReplyDeleteWhen are we getting that mix up in here?

ReplyDeleteI'd love to listen to a mix of yours!
ReplyDeleteBeing a DJ is very stressful; some of my friends are DJs on the side.
