No! I didn't die, I promise =3

The last month I've been doing volunteer work for the effected victims of the February quake in Christchurch, New Zealand and haven't had the time or access for any blogging or DJing.

I've just got home now and am starting back university and normal life schedules so I can start a new mix soon and get back to putting content up for you lot. Thanks for your patience and really sorry about the long period of absence.

Love you guys xo

100 followers! Earthquake =(

This will be something of a good news/bad news blog. Because some big things have been happening lately.

First, good news! ONE HUNDRED FOLLOWERS! An amazing effort by you all and thank you so much for tuning in. Follower numbers really jumped after I posted my first mix which is a great sign. Thank you! Thank you for taking a look at my interests and for all the good feedback, and I love you all =P.

Now for the bad news, which most of you may already know of, which is the earthquakes happening in my country, New Zealand. Local news reports over 100 dead confirmed, and over 200 people on the missing persons list that local workers are using to find remaining survivors. Damage is supposed to be over 15 billion US dollars and still most people are without power and water.

I personally am fine and have had no losses myself so I have been contacting my friends in the worst affected regions and seeing what I can do to assist the cleanup.

Mix 2 is still being done, it's just a little delayed. I promise it will be complete soon.

Peace xx

You guys are awesome: Mix 2 in the making

First of all, just a BIG WARM LOVING THANK YOU to everyone who loved the mix I made a few days ago. An absolutely amazing turn out and I havent had any negative feedback so thanks guys, you're all lovely <3.

I'm just gathering up tracks for my next mix. Which I think I might throw in some 4/4 and experiment with my timings a bit. It'll be a bit more challenging and possibly a bit more messy but thats the only way to learn!

I'm thinking...a bit of Deadmau5, a bit of David Guetta, a bit of Afrojack and some netsky, Mt Eden and Prodigy to round it off. It's going to be loads of fun and I hope to have it all done in the next few days at least. Thank you again for all your good feedback. If you want a particular DJ or track in the next mix post it in the comment section below. I'll do my best to incorporate it if I like the track!

Until next time!

My first mix is recorded, just needs to be uploaded and other stuff!

Well first up sorry for the long time since my last post. Last night was a big night for me and my friends and we hit some gigs and clubs (where I learned from a particular club how NOT to DJ).

We also went and saw AMANDA PALMER who is freaking amazing live and is doing a tour of my country. If you've ever heard of the Dresden Dolls or just think you might like her kind of music definitely youtube her and see for yourself (No she's not dance music, but shes still heaps cool haha).

So the mix is done and ready but I'm not sure where to upload. Can I get a suggestion in the comments section below?

I'm gonna be a DJ!

Hi friends and fans and thanks again for your follows and comments! It feels good man.

Today I've been straight mixing after being inspired by a close friend of mine who thought that since I love music so much, why don't I practice and gear up to mix professionally in a club. How exciting!

Personally I can have MAJOR gripes when a bad DJ is behind the decks at a club and completely ruins the energy of the club. So theres a lot of self expectation to learn and do it right! But I'm loving it. To start off I'm just using VirtualDJ and mixing from my own personal collection but I'm taking to it really well and having loads of fun.

I'd like to put out to the friends I've made here that if they know of a place to buy DJ gear relatively cheap to post in the comment section with links. SEcond hand gear is fine, as long as it's reliable and quality.

Sorry for the no-links in this post though, I'm thinking I might upload a quick mix I throw together in my next blog. Post a comment saying "Give us a mix!" and if theres enough I'll do just that.

Thanks again!

I little off topic today

Well I spoke too soon about having a bad valentines day! My best friend came over late on monday night and got me a book "101 one things I mean when I say I love you" and a bar of white chocolate! Which is my favourite. I got her some things she needed for her new house and it was rad. I hope you all had wonderful valentines days, even though the occasion seems so commercialised now.

I thought I'd take the time to briefly talk about some of my other passions and hobbies in this blog so my followers can learn a little bit more about who I am. I'm an avid video gamer and have been since I was young, my first games was Doom and Diablo, for years I loved Warcraft 2 and 3. And yes for 4 years I was a drone to World of Warcraft (but no longer!). Nowadays I enjoy starcraft (1v1 platinum protoss, woo!) and Heroes of Newerth (I buy wards and courier every game).

Obviously I love music. Dance music has been my favourite since I was about 9 years old when my step sister gave me a mix CD full of trance and breakbeat tracks. It became the only CD I listened to for nearly a year. Later when I got access to the internet in my teens I learnt more about house, trance, breakbeat etc eventually blossoming for the love I have now for most dance music. This goes hand in hand with my love for dancing itself. I did hip hop and production dance in high school and was offered an opportunity to do ballet at a young age, but...ballet's lame. Haha!

For those of you wondering yes I am a girl but no the picture on my profile is not me. For my own privacy reasons I used a picture I had on my hard drive, I am not nearly as amazing looking as that asian girl! Also I'm from New Zealand, the little country where things like Sir Rutherford (the man that split the atom), Lord of the Rings and Mt Eden Dubstep comes from.

Well, I've succeeded in writing 3 paragraphs about myself so heres some music. Going with the NZ theme I'm going to run with some Mt Eden tracks, one DnB, and one Dubstep. Enjoy!

Keep the comments and follows coming. I love checking out other peoples blogs too.

Have a great day xx

With Valentines day almost over in my country and not having had any Valentines approaches this girls feeling a little down but an afternoon session of Netsky and B Complex sure upped my mood. Here's some links for some of my favourite tracks by them.

Have a happy Valentines day everyone and I hope it's better then mine was.

Peace xx.

Woah! Loads of traffic already, what a start!

Thanks to all my friends and such for coming and viewing my first blog and following me/contributing in the comments section. I just wanted to put a quick update in before I toddle off to bed with some tracks that have caught my eye in the last few days. I'll be providing youtube links so you can listen to them at your own leisure!

Here goes!

A track by Sigma called Paint it Black. No it has NOTHING to do with the Rolling Stones hit! But it's awesome regardless!

A DnB remix of a Deadmau5 classic! Check it out as it's really well done.

And finally a great VIP mix of a Netsky track, and DEFINITELY check out more of Netsky's tracks as he is a BRILLIANT up and coming producer.

As always all tracks are property of their artists and I am only posting them here for a promotional purpose and I own no rights to any of the material shown above.

Thanks for all the followers and comments and definitely keep adding more in the section below!

Day 1! Whats in store here.

Well for years I've been a big fan of Electronic Dance Music, of which Drum and Bass is a part of! Very recently it has become somewhat of a passion of mine and I love to share it with others in my local friend group and was hoping to do the same for the online world. I hope to bring you a taste of some of the best Drum and Bass artists around the world as well as other similar works and remixes. Basically whatever I feel is relevant and exciting and interesting, I'll post it up for everyone to comment and have their opinions on! So first of all..What is Drum and Bass?

Drum and bass (also written as "drum 'n' bass" and commonly abbreviated to D&B or DnB) is a type of electronic dance music which emerged in the mid 1990s. The genre is characterized by fast breakbeats (typically between 160–190 bpm, occasional variation is noted in older compositions), with heavy bass and sub-bass lines. As time went on artists began to incorporate other genre's styles into their music creating their own unique flavour.

One of the most popular examples of DnB artists would be Pendulum, at least in mainstream culture. Though many of their recent releases aren't as DnB flavoured, and incorporate more of an energetic electro rock show vibe, they still got to where they were today through the DnB label. If you'd like to preview some of their music you can find tracks on Youtube, I would suggest looking at tracks such as "Hold your colour", "Propane Nightmares", or "Set me on Fire".

That'll be all for now but please stick around for more as I get more ideas and just throw them up here! Please feel free to comment or follow me and I'll be happy to check out the blogs of your own interests too.

Peace all xx
